This action is administrative in nature and is not the result of

misconduct, failure in duty, or any loss of confidence in your conduct or

service. It is made necessary by circumstances outside your control and

outside the ordinary expectations of the member concerned.

I want it clearly understood that this reduction does not diminish the

value of your service to the 173rd Battlegroup, nor does it erase the

work you have already done to earn the trust of this command. You have

carried your responsibilities properly, and that is recognised.

I know this kind of action is not easy to accept, even when the reason

for it is understood. For that, you have my sympathy as well as my

respect. My expectation is that this will prove temporary, and that when

effective Apr 4, 2025.

The Emergency Pilot Replacement Program is awarded only where a member

has shown the ability to meet the required standard for temporary flight

duty under command authority. It is not a routine qualification, nor does

it place the holder on the same standing as a fully qualified Naval

Flight Academy graduate. It exists to meet immediate operational need and

to place limited trust where that trust has been earned.

You have completed the required standard and are therefore recognised as

qualified under EPRP from the above date. This qualification remains

valid for 3 months from Apr 4, 2025 only, unless it is

earlier withdrawn, replaced, or superseded by command authority.

Take this for what it is: a mark of trust, but also a temporary one. Use

the time well, carry the responsibility properly, and understand both the

opportunity and the limit that come with it.
