Awarded to personnel who have completed the 173rd’s initial naval recruit-training programme. The qualification covers naval customs, chain of command, communications, basic shipboard safety, equipment familiarisation, conduct standards and the responsibilities expected of a serving member.

Completion normally marks graduation from recruit training and eligibility for assignment to a 173rd Navy unit.

Awarded to personnel who have demonstrated advanced competence with ship-mounted weapon systems. Training includes turret operation, target identification, firing discipline, engagement ranges, weapon management, fire-control communications and coordinated attacks against hostile spacecraft or larger vessels.

This qualification identifies personnel trusted to operate important naval weapon systems with limited supervision.

Awarded to personnel who have completed introductory training in the inspection and upkeep of spacecraft systems. It covers component identification, routine checks, fuse and component replacement, basic repair tools, fault reporting and assisting with emergency maintenance.

This qualification permits a member to assist qualified engineering personnel but does not certify them to independently manage a ship’s engineering systems.

Awarded to personnel who have demonstrated competence in the operation, maintenance and repair of spacecraft engineering systems. Training includes power and resource management, component diagnosis, component replacement, fire response, system recovery and coordinated damage-control procedures.

This qualification is normally required for assignment to an Engineer position.

Awarded to experienced engineers who have demonstrated the ability to manage complex technical failures and lead engineering activity. It covers emergency power allocation, prioritising multiple system failures, advanced repairs, damage-control coordination, engineering-team leadership and the supervision of junior technical personnel.

This qualification is normally expected for Chief Engineers and senior engineering appointments.

Awarded to personnel trained to provide immediate assistance to injured members during operations. Training includes casualty assessment, stabilisation, basic medical-tool use, casualty movement, requesting medical support and preventing further injury until qualified medical personnel arrive.

Combat First Aid is suitable for operational personnel across all Navy and Army units.

Awarded to personnel who have completed advanced medical and casualty-care training. It covers injury diagnosis, medical equipment, medication use, triage, casualty evacuation, treatment aboard medical facilities and the coordination of emergency medical response.

This qualification is normally required for Corpsmen, Medical Officers and personnel assigned to dedicated medical-response duties.

Awarded to personnel who have completed the 173rd’s general ground-combat course. Training includes personal weapons, movement, use of cover, communications, fire-and-movement procedures, boarding, counter-boarding, landing-zone security and casualty extraction.

The qualification is available to Navy personnel who may be required to operate outside their spacecraft on planetside or other locations NOT on board ships. .

Awarded to personnel who have completed initial training for service within the attached UEE Army Detachment. The programme covers Army customs, discipline, chain of command, infantry movement, ground communications, personal weapons, fieldcraft, equipment safety and basic fireteam operations.

Completion normally qualifies an Army recruit for assignment to an operational Army unit.

Awarded to personnel trained to gather tactical information while avoiding unnecessary detection or engagement. Training includes concealed movement, observation, route assessment, threat reporting, sensor and optic use, landing-zone reconnaissance and maintaining contact with hostile forces.

This qualification is intended for reconnaissance personnel, scouts and other members tasked with operating ahead of the main force.
