Major Fleet Commander level. Expected to command a major fleet formation and set operational intent across a broad area of responsibility.

Battlegroup Commander level. Expected to command a battlegroup and direct its carrier, capital line, escorts, and support elements as a unified fighting formation.

Senior deputy at battlegroup or fleet level. Expected billets include executive officer for a battlegroup, senior high command staff lead, or commander of multiple task elements under a battlegroup.

Task Force Commander level. Expected to command a task force of multiple ships, typically with independent mission tasking and a defined operational objective.

Capital ship commander and senior staff tier. Expected to command a capital hull or hold a senior battlegroup staff billet requiring independent judgement, discipline authority, and full readiness responsibility.

Ship captain and senior leadership tier. Expected to command an escort or specialist command platform, serve as executive officer aboard a larger hull, or lead a detached element under mission orders.

Senior officer tier. Expected billets include senior department head, senior watch officer, operations lead, or executive officer on smaller hulls and detachments.

This rank has the Pilot Designator attached. This means this officer completed the UEE Naval Flight Academy and serves as a Combat Pilot.
