The 173rd Battlegroup's primary focus is to deliver the closest experience you can have as a member of the UEE Navy, from the Squadron 42 Campaign, to the PU. While SQ42 is not yet released and the full lore of the UEE Military as a whole is still not fully known, we are doing our best to get as much info as we can find to build the best experience we can offer.

This means, we follow everything as close to lore as possible while balancing gameplay and any other restrictions we cannot simulate from lore to game.

To get the most out of what we are trying to achieve, we follow a strict pipeline for all members to follow. This is not just for your career but also for any advancements in rank.

The Navy, Army and Marines all have a complex rank structure, similar to modern day militaries. These are broken into 2 categories, Enlisted and Officer ranks.

Every new member starts at the bottom and works their way up. There are limits however to how high you can climb and they are limitations you will be made aware of when you either take on a role or are offered promotion.

Roles such as Combat Pilot have a minimum rank of Ensign but a max rank or Lt Commander. Senior enlisted roles like chief engineer will cap you at Master Chief Petty Officer meaning if you wish to climb higher, you will have to surrender your role.

This helps players across the board as it stops hogging of both rank and role. If you wish to settle on a role, you will forfeit any possible advancement,.

The 173rd Battlegroup follows the full chain of command system the UEE Navy follows. Everyone starts as a Starman Recruit making their way up the ranks. Promotions are done via promotion boards which look at attendance, abilities and leadership. If there are not enough positions to accommodate the rank, then promotions won't be able to occur as we will not over expand our rank structure to make everyone an Admiral. We stive to keep our structure balanced and believable, not to stroke any ego's.

Your rank, is hard to achieve but easy to loose. Poor attendance and attitude may find yourself back down the ladder making way for those who want to put in the effort. This is important as some roles, such as a Combat Pilot and Ship Commanders require an Officer rank to be held.

This way, all those you see in certain positions and wearing higher ranks have not only earned it but also either kept the standard or went above it to keep that rank.

We aim to have as much as possible feel earned and rewarding, not just an attendance trophy.
