Who We Are

“Second to None.”

United Empire of Earth Navy – 2nd Fleet

The 173rd Battle Group is a fully structured, lore-compliant Star Citizen organization operating under the banner of the UEE Navy’s 2nd Fleet. First established in 2930, the 173rd was forged in the fires of Vanduul incursions and pirate insurgencies—and has since served as a rapid-response and humanitarian operations force across known space.

After the recent redeployment of most of its former assets to other battlegroups, the 173rd has been rebuilt from the ground up under the command of Vice Admiral Marcus Jett. With a new fleet being assembled, including the Idris-P UEES Castra, the 173rd is actively training a new generation of Naval personnel—pilots, marines, engineers, and officers.

Why Join the 173rd?

✅Structured Career Progression – Promotions, qualifications, and specializations must be earned, making each milestone meaningful.

✅Tactical & Immersive Roleplay – We integrate realistic UEE Naval operations without excessive formalities or rigid attendance requirements.

✅Flexible Commitment – No forced participation in events or training—real life comes first.

✅Affiliate and Full Membership routes available. (Affiliate membership is allowed, but certain ranks, positions and roles will be restricted.)

✅PvE-Focused with Selective PvP – While we engage in org vs. org combat and large fleet battles, we do not condone piracy or griefing.

✅Comprehensive Training & Assessment – Whether you’re a fresh recruit or a veteran pilot, everyone must prove their skills before advancing.

✅Weekly Missions - We aim to host at least one main mission per week, more during large events such as Invictus.

✅We focus on crewing up each ship before opening the next. Not everyone can or will be a pilot so everyone starts from the bottom and works their way up.

✅The 173rd provides ALL ships. You just need to bring yourself. (Ships include but not limited to: Idris, Polaris, Perseus, Paladin, F8C's,F7's and more)

How in-depth do we RP?

RP can be taken to various levels and we wish to let the player decide just how far they wish to go. We do have a bare minimum standard for all which is no-one disrupts RP if it is going on. So if you are just playing with no plans to RP, just play the game as yourself and address any other player by their name / rank. Just remember to follow orders.

✅RP can be as far as creating a character with backstory (This is done via profiles in discord. The name will be used in the lore and PERSCOM)

✅If you don't wish to go as far as a character but like the idea of just being yourself in the world around you, that is also acceptable.

✅If you don't wish to go full RP and happy just to play, keep in mind that others can/will be and therefore do not disrupt the RP flow.

✅There is an RP area on Discord. This is an OPT-IN area and on there is RP chats, COMM Transcripts and Announcements related to the lore etc.

It should be noted if you have zero interest in RP and do not wish to engage others who are, this org may not be for you.

Mission Structure?

While still in its infancy stages, all missions are based around current ingame missions and events. This is used to create deployment operations and also helps push the story driven narrative that the 173rd uses. We try to align the ingame lore with our own as much as possible and try to reflect that with our missions.

✅All missions come with a posted deployment order and briefing so all those taking part have an idea on what to expect but some info is kept redacted by our mission creators to allow surprise as well as uncertainty with the outcome of each mission.

✅Every mission also gets an After Action Report which is done by senior staff that is posted to all and is used for possible promotions and awards.

✅We always make sure the current 173rd lore matches the PU loreset during events etc. We won't be the navy unit winning all the wards. We are a tiny part of it!

Boot Camp

While we do run a Boot Camp for all new recruits, it's not something EVERY member is required to take. Boot camp is there to teach new players the basics and if you have played the game for a while, you can attend as a recruit under observation. This means you are assigned to boot camp but can take part in a mission as a crew member, usually a gunner and if you prove you know the basics of movement, equipping of gear and basic gunnery, you will be signed off from Boot Camp.

The purpose of boot camp and the conditions to waive boot camp are for the following skills.

✅Basics of movement and interaction

✅The Ability to equip clothing, armor and weapons

✅The Ability to eat and drink, use meds and medical facilities.

✅The Ability to enter and exit positions

✅The Ability to use Weapon Turrets on large multi crew and capital ships.

Please note, we do not teach piloting for boot camp. They are separate qualifications as part of our progression system.

Membership Recording

All members will have their own profile that can be accessed via our webpage - https://173rd-ueenavy.com/

✅This tracks your rank, qualifications, missions and awards. It also allows senior staff to see how long you have been a member, how long you have been in your rank and any other info needed to help advance your career.

✅The backend system we use is PERSCOM which is a great tool for this and is used extensively for games such as Arma and other milsim units. You do not need a PERSCOM account as we do all profiles internally so you just need to look at your name on the website!

Final Points:

We fill ships before assigning new ones. This means roles such as Pilot, Co-Pilot and Captain are limited. We prioritize 1 flagship before anything else.

Every role and position has a route you must take. These may require qualifications, cadres or rank to achieve.

There is no fast track to limited roles, ranks or positions within the command structure.

While we don't mind if you play with other orgs, we do have a 30 day inactivity for full members and a 60 day inactivity for affiliates. If you have not took part in any 173rd event within these periods, you will be removed from your position and assigned to the Inactive squadron. During this time, you will be contacted and if you fail to report back or take part in missions within 30 days of being in the Inactive squadron, you will be retired and possibly removed. If you plan to be away for a long time, let command know. Real life comes first and we can accomodate this as long as we know that you need the time. It should also be mentioned that those who repeatedly walk the line of inactivity may face disciplinary action.

If players are found to be committing piracy or griefing actions (outside of PTU/Evocati) and sufficient evidence is provided, you will be discharged from the 173rd as this goes against our core standards.

Signed,

JPO Jack Mercer
